The Toro Sentado fig’s protective skin has allowed this variety to be grown commercially in South America, especially in Peru. However, Toro Sentago is thought to originally come from Spain, in the province Alicante.Under the dark violet skin, there is a pale red pulp. The pulp has a sugary flavor and a mild seed crunch. Growers love Toro Sentado for its easy tooting, early ripening, and two crops per season. It is a common variety, not needing wasp pollination, and its small eye gives it good protection against predators. This fig with a name meaning “sitting bull” is still considered rare in the U.S. Try this early ripening large fig this season.

When do we ship cuttings?
Non-Rooted Cuttings(November/December):
We begin to ship cuttings once the trees are dormant and in a shippable state. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early spring. We stop shipping when the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March.
**All non-rooted cuttings ship between November and March regardless of the date selected during checkout. Orders placed during our pre-sale period(October/November) will ship out first in November/December. If you are rooting your cuttings in the spring, our cuttings can be kept in the refridgerator until you are ready to root them. They will be perfectly fine. That is what we do and they've turned into our most impressive trees.
Rooted Cuttings(Spring):
We begin shipping rooted cuttings once they are mature enough to ship. The shipping period typically begins late April and continues into June. Regardless of the date you select during checkout, we will ship when ready during that span. Please do not ask for ETA's or specific arrival dates. You will receive an email when your order ships with UPS Ground tracking details.
