Saint Martin Fig
Saint Martin is a fig that originally comes from France. It was introduced in the US by an Italian fig collector. The variety was said to be grown in the ground in France, where it withstood some very cold temperatures. The trees have leaves with 5- and 3 lobes and long fingers.

Saint Martin figs have light green skin with ruby colored pulp. The high contrast between the light skin and colorful pulp make this a beauty in any fig collection. The figs have a soft skin and the pulp has a jammy/syrupy texture. The figs that begin to ripen mid-season in early September will have a moderate berry flavor and moderate sweetness, while the end of season figs will have a more intense flavor and thicker texture. Growers note that figs left to dry on the tree will likely drop with this variety. There are many good qualities about these medium sized figs: Saint Martin produces 2 main crops, has a closed eye, ripens on the earlier side, and is highly productive.

When do we ship cuttings?
Non-Rooted Cuttings(November/December):
We begin to ship cuttings once the trees are dormant and in a shippable state. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early spring. We stop shipping when the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March.
**All non-rooted cuttings ship between November and March regardless of the date selected during checkout. Orders placed during our pre-sale period(October/November) will ship out first in November/December. If you are rooting your cuttings in the spring, our cuttings can be kept in the refridgerator until you are ready to root them. They will be perfectly fine. That is what we do and they've turned into our most impressive trees.
Rooted Cuttings(Spring):
We begin shipping rooted cuttings once they are mature enough to ship. The shipping period typically begins late April and continues into June. Regardless of the date you select during checkout, we will ship when ready during that span. Please do not ask for ETA's or specific arrival dates. You will receive an email when your order ships with UPS Ground tracking details.
