Rossellino Fig
The mixture of dark green and purple skin on the Rossellino fig can lead to a red appearance. The figs are rounded in shape with a thick skin. The light red pulp has a berry flavor and some seed crunch. Rossellino figs are small-medium in size, with most weighing between 20-35 grams. The trees will produce mainly 5-lobed leaves that have long fingers and wavy serration.

Details
Rossellino originates from Tuscany, Italy, where it is considered a bifera variety that produces both a breba and a main crop. Stateside growers, however, report mixed findings with some tasting the early fruits and others only harvesting a main crop. This largely depends on the age and maturity of the tree and the growing climate. Gardeners can expect the main crop to ripen mid-season, around late August, but there is no hurry to pick this variety. The figs are known for their good attachment to the tree and ability to dry on the tree for a concentrated fig flavor.

When do we ship cuttings?
Non-Rooted Cuttings(November/December):
We begin to ship cuttings once the trees are dormant and in a shippable state. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early spring. We stop shipping when the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March.
**All non-rooted cuttings ship between November and March regardless of the date selected during checkout. Orders placed during our pre-sale period(October/November) will ship out first in November/December. If you are rooting your cuttings in the spring, our cuttings can be kept in the refridgerator until you are ready to root them. They will be perfectly fine. That is what we do and they've turned into our most impressive trees.
Rooted Cuttings(Spring):
We begin shipping rooted cuttings once they are mature enough to ship. The shipping period typically begins late April and continues into June. Regardless of the date you select during checkout, we will ship when ready during that span. Please do not ask for ETA's or specific arrival dates. You will receive an email when your order ships with UPS Ground tracking details.
