Details
The LSU Red Fig is a superior, heat-tolerant fig variety developed by Louisiana State University’s breeding program. This prolific producer offers medium-sized fruit with a beautiful reddish-bronze skin and a striking deep red interior. The figs are exceptionally sweet and flavorful, making them ideal for fresh eating, jams, drying, and desserts.
One of the standout features of the LSU Red Fig tree is its high disease resistance, particularly against rust and other common fig ailments. It thrives in hot, humid climates, making it an excellent choice for growers in the Southeastern U.S. and other warm regions. This variety is known for vigorous growth, early fruiting, and consistent harvests throughout the season.
If you're looking for a delicious, easy-to-grow fig variety that can handle heat and humidity while delivering high yields of sweet, juicy fruit, the LSU Red Fig is a fantastic choice for your garden or orchard!

When do we ship cuttings?
Non-Rooted Cuttings(November/December):
We begin to ship cuttings once the trees are dormant and in a shippable state. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early spring. We stop shipping when the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March.
**All non-rooted cuttings ship between November and March regardless of the date selected during checkout. Orders placed during our pre-sale period(October/November) will ship out first in November/December. If you are rooting your cuttings in the spring, our cuttings can be kept in the refrigerator until you are ready to root them. They will be perfectly fine. That is what we do and they've turned into our most impressive trees.
Rooted Cuttings(Spring):
We begin shipping rooted cuttings once they are mature enough to ship. The shipping period typically begins late April and continues into June. Regardless of the date you select during checkout, we will ship when ready during that span. Please do not ask for ETA's or specific arrival dates. You will receive an email when your order ships with UPS Ground tracking details.
