Faja de Ovelha Fig
Faja de Ovelha is a small but mighty fig. Its petite size actually gives Faja de Ovelha good resistance to pests. It has a tight eye and reaches maturity quickly, leaving less time to become part of other creatures' diets.

Faja de Ovelha figs originally hail from Portugal. They come from the island of Madeira and get their name from the parish where they were discovered. The figs are drop shaped with somewhat of a neck and have yellow/brown skin. Their bright red pulp has a sweet berry flavor and some acidity. Faja de Ovelha has soft skin and little to no seed crunch. The figs are early ripening and grow on trees with 3-5 lobed leaves.
So how small are these figs? About 10-20 grams each. Faja de Ovelha trees produce many of these tiny figs and the trees are vigorous growers, so there will still be plenty of fruit to sample.

When do we ship cuttings?
Non-Rooted Cuttings(November/December):
We begin to ship cuttings once the trees are dormant and in a shippable state. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early spring. We stop shipping when the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March.
**All non-rooted cuttings ship between November and March regardless of the date selected during checkout. Orders placed during our pre-sale period(October/November) will ship out first in November/December. If you are rooting your cuttings in the spring, our cuttings can be kept in the refridgerator until you are ready to root them. They will be perfectly fine. That is what we do and they've turned into our most impressive trees.
Rooted Cuttings(Spring):
We begin shipping rooted cuttings once they are mature enough to ship. The shipping period typically begins late April and continues into June. Regardless of the date you select during checkout, we will ship when ready during that span. Please do not ask for ETA's or specific arrival dates. You will receive an email when your order ships with UPS Ground tracking details.
