Exquisito Fig
The Exquisito fig is fairly new to the fig scene and was popularized in the U.S. by a grower out of California. It is a common variety, not requiring pollination by the fig wasp to obtain the signature large size fruits. Exquisito figs grow in a uniformly tapered pear shape on trees with 5-lobed leaves.

Exquisito is one of the few fig varieties with the ability to produce a breba crop and two main crops with distinctly different appearances and flavors in one season. That means that fig enthusiasts have the chance to begin sampling this variety as early as the end of July (depending on climate).
The breba crop bears a green skin and is very sweet with a fruity and berry flavor. You will know the first main crop figs are ripe when you see their black skin covered with starry dots. These main figs will have a fruit cocktail taste. The third and final crop of Exquisito will appear more smoky gray with a mix of purple and green coloring. These are the grand finale with a highly sought after banana/strawberry yogurt flavor.

When do we ship cuttings?
Non-Rooted Cuttings(November/December):
We begin to ship cuttings once the trees are dormant and in a shippable state. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early spring. We stop shipping when the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March.
**All non-rooted cuttings ship between November and March regardless of the date selected during checkout. Orders placed during our pre-sale period(October/November) will ship out first in November/December. If you are rooting your cuttings in the spring, our cuttings can be kept in the refridgerator until you are ready to root them. They will be perfectly fine. That is what we do and they've turned into our most impressive trees.
Rooted Cuttings(Spring):
We begin shipping rooted cuttings once they are mature enough to ship. The shipping period typically begins late April and continues into June. Regardless of the date you select during checkout, we will ship when ready during that span. Please do not ask for ETA's or specific arrival dates. You will receive an email when your order ships with UPS Ground tracking details.
