Des Roig Manyo Fig
Des Roig Manyo is a Spanish fig variety that originally came from the collection of famed fig-grower, Montserrat Pons. Pons is said to have acquired this variety from the Carrossa estate, a Spanish cattle farm. The fig was named for the estate’s foreman, Roig Manyo, who discovered the variety amongst the many that grew on the farm. In fact, figs were so naturally prevalent in the area that the cows often grazed on them—what lucky heifers.

Today, Kremp Florist grows Des Roig Manyo stateside, where it has been a very productive variety that ripens later in the season. The figs have variegated green and purple skin with some cracking. They are small-medium in size and have a rounded shape. The skin on this variety is thick and they grow on trees with mainly 3-lobed leaves.
The interior of Des Roig Manyo figs can range from light yellow to light red. They are very sweet, and some tasters have even noted a complex brown sugar flavor. There is also a mild berry flavor present in these juicy figs.

When do we ship cuttings?
Non-Rooted Cuttings(November/December):
We begin to ship cuttings once the trees are dormant and in a shippable state. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early spring. We stop shipping when the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March.
**All non-rooted cuttings ship between November and March regardless of the date selected during checkout. Orders placed during our pre-sale period(October/November) will ship out first in November/December. If you are rooting your cuttings in the spring, our cuttings can be kept in the refridgerator until you are ready to root them. They will be perfectly fine. That is what we do and they've turned into our most impressive trees.
Rooted Cuttings(Spring):
We begin shipping rooted cuttings once they are mature enough to ship. The shipping period typically begins late April and continues into June. Regardless of the date you select during checkout, we will ship when ready during that span. Please do not ask for ETA's or specific arrival dates. You will receive an email when your order ships with UPS Ground tracking details.
