Curio de Bou Fig
Curio de Bou figs originally hail from Spain where they were part of the collection of famed fig grower, Montserrat Pons. Not much is known about this variety, but it can be surmised that they were discovered in an area known as “Bou” where other similarly named figs were found.

What we do know about Curio de Bou is that it will bear a light purple fig with some cracking. You can find the figs growing on trees with 3- or 5-lobed leaves. The medium-thick skin covers a small, oval shaped fruit. Inside, you will find a light red colored pulp near the neck that bleeds into a deep red color towards the ostiole. Take a bite, and you will be met with moderate sweetness, some berry and fruity flavors, and slight acidity. The texture is slightly chewy with good seed crunch. Although they might not appear as impressive as some of the jumbo fig varieties, some connoisseurs prefer these bite-sized figs for a change of pace and variety within their collection.

When do we ship cuttings?
Non-Rooted Cuttings(November/December):
We begin to ship cuttings once the trees are dormant and in a shippable state. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early spring. We stop shipping when the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March.
**All non-rooted cuttings ship between November and March regardless of the date selected during checkout. Orders placed during our pre-sale period(October/November) will ship out first in November/December. If you are rooting your cuttings in the spring, our cuttings can be kept in the refridgerator until you are ready to root them. They will be perfectly fine. That is what we do and they've turned into our most impressive trees.
Rooted Cuttings(Spring):
We begin shipping rooted cuttings once they are mature enough to ship. The shipping period typically begins late April and continues into June. Regardless of the date you select during checkout, we will ship when ready during that span. Please do not ask for ETA's or specific arrival dates. You will receive an email when your order ships with UPS Ground tracking details.
