Burgan Unknown Fig
Burgan Unknown is a vigorous growing tree. It ripens early and will continue to fruit for a long growing season. Figs grow to medium size, usually around 40-50 grams. The figs have small eyes, which makes them more resistant to pests and splitting.

Burgan Unknown is a fig variety named after the street on which it was found growing in a residential yard. Since then, the fig has been grown in Malaysia and the US, where it was touted by fig-grower, Brian M. The appetizing photos of this variety led Burgan Unknown to become a coveted fig that will add beauty to any collection. Burgan Unknown has a reddish or purple exterior with some yellow blushing coming through. The thin skin covers the round shaped fig that contains a bright red pulp. The pulp color, however, can vary depending on pollination. Regardless, this is known as an excellent tasting fig with a sweet honey flavor, good seed crunch, and syrupy texture. Experienced fig tasters have noted hints of plum, guava, and fig with an overall fruity flavor.
Burgan Unknown is often compared to Black Madeira, which it reportedly exceeds in flavor.

When do we ship cuttings?
Non-Rooted Cuttings(November/December):
We begin to ship cuttings once the trees are dormant and in a shippable state. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early spring. We stop shipping when the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March.
**All non-rooted cuttings ship between November and March regardless of the date selected during checkout. Orders placed during our pre-sale period(October/November) will ship out first in November/December. If you are rooting your cuttings in the spring, our cuttings can be kept in the refridgerator until you are ready to root them. They will be perfectly fine. That is what we do and they've turned into our most impressive trees.
Rooted Cuttings(Spring):
We begin shipping rooted cuttings once they are mature enough to ship. The shipping period typically begins late April and continues into June. Regardless of the date you select during checkout, we will ship when ready during that span. Please do not ask for ETA's or specific arrival dates. You will receive an email when your order ships with UPS Ground tracking details.
