Flowers Are the Perfect Gentle Reminder That They Aren't
Alone
Grief doesn't end when the memorial service concludes.
In the quiet days and weeks that follow, when the formal
funeral events have passed and visitors return to their everyday routines, a thoughtful
delivery to their door can mean more than you might expect.
That is what makes our sympathy flowers and thoughtful gifts
so meaningful:
- A
peaceful vase of pastel flowers on the kitchen table. - A
long-lasting foliage plant to keep them in your memory. - A
comforting gourmet fruit basket shared among family members.
It is a simple, lasting message: You are loved, you are
remembered, and you are not alone.
Choosing The Right Sympathy Flowers for Home Delivery
Flowers sent to a residence serve a different purpose than
formal funeral hall displays. Home arrangements are designed to bring quiet
beauty into a personal living space without feeling overwhelming:
- Peaceful
Whites & Neutrals: Classic white lilies, cream roses, and soft
hydrangeas create an atmosphere of quiet serenity. Perfect as a centerpiece or living room
table. - Warm
& Comforting Colors: There is no rule that sympathy flowers must
be white. Soft pastels or cheerful colors that honor the vibrant
personality of the person they lost can bring welcome warmth. Send what feels right. It’s the thought that counts. - Low-Maintenance
Designs: Professionally arranged bouquets delivered complete in a vase
allow the recipient to simply place them down and enjoy them without
needing to find a vase or trim stems.
When Is the Right Time to Send Sympathy Flowers to a
Home?
There is no deadline for showing someone you care.
- Immediately
Upon Hearing the News: Sends instant comfort while the family is
processing their loss. - During
the Week of Services: Brings warmth to the household as family members
gather together. - In
the Weeks After the Funeral: Often the most impactful time of all. As
phone calls slow and daily life resumes, a surprise delivery lets them
know you haven't forgotten their grief.
It is never too late to send comfort.
Beyond Flowers: Lasting Plants & Keepsakes
Sometimes flowers feel right for the moment. Other times,
you may want to send a lasting gift that continues to grow alongside their
memories. At Kremp Florist, we have both available.
- Peace
Lilies & Dish Gardens: Long lasting and easy to care for indoor
plants offer a living tribute that brings quiet life to any room for years
to come. - Wind
Chimes, Sympathy Stepping Stones & Keepsake Gifts: Thoughtful
remembrance keepsakes provide a physical comfort they can cherish long
after the initial weeks pass. - Gourmet
Food Baskets: A practical, comforting gesture for households hosting
visiting family members. These also
help provide food for the family so they don’t have to go out during such
a difficult time.
What Should You Write in a Sympathy Card?
You don't need to write something profound or attempt to fix
their grief — sincerity is what matters most.
- Simple
& Warm: "Thinking of you and your family during this
difficult time. Sending you so much love." - Comforting
& Direct: "Holding you close in my thoughts and heart. May
your fondest memories bring you peace." - Honoring
a Memory: "Your father brought so much light to everyone
around him. He will be deeply missed." - Offering
Support: "Please know I am here for you. If you need anything at all, just ask."

Sympathy Flowers for the Home FAQs
What is the difference between sympathy flowers and
funeral flowers?
Funeral flowers are formal, larger tributes (such as
standing sprays or, crosses, wreaths and casket sprays) that are sent directly
to a funeral home or church service. They are displayed by the casket. Sympathy flowers are manageable vase
arrangements, tabletop planters, or gifts designed specifically for display
inside a family home. While you can send
sympathy gifts to a funeral service, it is not common to send funeral pieces to
the home.
Are plants better than flowers for a sympathy gift?
Both are wonderful options! Fresh flowers offer immediate
color and brightness, while green plants (like Peace Lilies or dish gardens)
offer a more long-term keepsake that grows for years to come.
What if I don't know when the recipient will be home?
Our delivery team takes great care when making residential
deliveries. If no one answers the door, the driver may choose to leave it in a
secure, weather-protected spot or tag the door/contact the recipient to schedule
a redelivery. You do not need to be
involved with the redelivery. Our team will ensure a safe and successful delivery.
Can I send sympathy flowers weeks after the passing?
Yes, absolutely. In fact, receiving flowers or a plant weeks
or even months after a loss is a deeply comforting reminder that their loved
one is still remembered. Some like sending
this late on purpose since at the time of the funeral, the family already has
several floral and plant gifts. By
sending later, yours would stand out on it’s own.
Can I send home sympathy flowers across the country?
Yes! Kremp Florist can take care of your sympathy flower
delivery anywhere in the country. Feel
free to place your order. We will take
care of it.
