April is a month of many things… We have April Fools, Easter, and of course, Administrative Professionals Day! These professionals are often the behind the scenes back-bones to help any organization run efficiently. They do everything from answering phones, scheduling appointments, arranging staff meetings, handling incoming and outgoing mail, editing documents, and more!
So, What Exactly is Administrative Professionals Day?
It is a day to celebrate our administrative professionals, of course! In 1952, the U.S. Secretary of Commerce, Charles Sawyer, decided June 1st through June 7th would be National Secretaries Week. It has since evolved to Administrative Professionals Day, and the event was moved to April!
So Who Should I be Sending Flowers to?
Administrative Professionals Day celebrates a wide umbrella of individuals who, according to the International Association of Administrative Professionals, includes anyone who is an extension of the executive team. Admins are business partners to the executive, executives, departments, and the companies they support.
