Like other French figs, Allix figs do have a slightly longer neck, although these figs are pretty petite in general. They have a teardrop shape with a rounded bottom. Allix figs have wine-red pulp that is really a beautiful color. The pulp has an intense berry flavor and a pasty, and jammy texture according to the description from FDM. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThis variety was apparently introduced by Thierry of FDM in 2020. Growers love it because it is as early ripening as Hardy Chicago and good for growers in cooler climates. The main crop usually ripens from late August to mid September and the figs themselves have a short hang-time on the tree before reaching ripeness. The taste has been compared to Black Madeira and Black Celeste, which are benchmark figs to which many do not compare. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early spring. We stop shipping when the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e**All non-rooted cuttings ship between November and March regardless of the date selected during checkout. Orders placed during our pre-sale period(October\/November) will ship out first in November\/December. If you are rooting your cuttings in the spring, our cuttings can be kept in the refrigerator until you are ready to root them. They will be perfectly fine.
