Comparing the Fees that Online Florists Charge

With so many online flower shops (or so-called flower shops) visible on the internet, we thought it would be helpful to show what you may or may not be charged.  From service fees to online flower delivery service handling charges, sales fees to delivery charges, it can sometimes seem like there is no end to the dollars and cents being tacked on to your online florists orders.  When a simple $39.95 florist flowers arrangement ends up costing you over $80, there is definitely something wrong.  Not to worry!  We are here to help.

Here are a few snapshots taken from our competitors.

FLORIST A

1- The first thing to be aware of is this "too good to be true" savings of 50%.  This almost always means the price is marked up(often double or more) to give the impression you are saving money when in fact, you aren't saving anything.  The post-discounted price is the actual value of what you see pictured.  No savings there!

2- Charging for an enclosure card and vase?  That's free with us.

3- $25 worth Shipping/Service and Handling fees?  We offer the same service with no other fees for just $14.99.

3- Sales fee?  What's a sales fee?  If you don't know what the charge is and there's no explanation, why should you be on the hook for paying it?

4- None of these additional charges are mentioned or shown until the very last step of the checkout process.  Before arriving on this page, the customer is given the impression that the order total is a fraction of what they will actually be charged in the end.

FLORIST B

1- Here we see the "too good to be true" slash discount once again.  We sell the same bouquet on our site for $39.95.  They had it marked $69.99.

2- All throughout the site, there are ads claiming free delivery yet there is no mention of the $13.95 service and handling fee til the very last step of checkout.

And finally, what you'll get with us:

1- You see the charges up front, before you checkout.  Honesty counts for something, right?

2- We don't spring any random fees or charges on you after you enter all your information.

3- Sales tax is the law so we must charge it.  Funny how our competition doesn't show that anywhere...  Hmmm.

If you have any questions about this information, feel free to email us.  We hope this helps you make the right decision when purchasing flowers and gifts online.
