Fun Flower Facts
What are Romantic Flowers?
A sensation of intimacy, nostalgia and comfort is captured in this color palette, a blend of delicate warm and cool colors with lavenders and pinks at its heart. Romantic arrangements express loving sentiments and admiration to mothers, sisters, grandmothers, aunts, best friends, significant others and brides-to-be. Flowers Featured: An iridescent ceramic rose-colored container holds a radial cluster of deep lavender roses, pale pink roses, champagne spray roses, grape hyacinth muscari, pale pink bouvardia, blush tulips, lavender stock and lilacs, accented by asparagus plumosa. Our professional floral designers refer to this opulent and compact design style as Mille Fleurs or a thousand flowers.
Rose Color Trends: Rage for Red Roses
A rose is a rose is a rose. Or is it? Unbeknownst to most of us, the 1990s spawned a virtual baby boom of rose varieties. Brought on by a fertile production period, today there are close to 120 rose varieties commercially available - up from the few dozen choices found in flower shops in the 1980s. These new rose varieties have not only expanded the color palette - from extreme lights to bright brights - but have enhanced characteristics such as bloom size, shape, stem length and strength of fragrance. The new reds for roses range from shades of bright raspberry to majestic scarlet to velvety-dark red to orange-kissed hues.
